The restaurant industry employs over 10 million people in the United States, with about 3.5 million U.S. jobs related to restaurant management and about 3.8 million jobs for servers and waiters/waitresses.

This is an industry that employs a lot of people, providing customer service as well as food service to clients day in and day out!

Restaurants are generally categorized into fast food or fine dining. Fast food restaurants are basically for people who are in a hurry and want to grab some hot, but not very healthy food. Fine dining restaurants are more about the experience of being waited on by the wait staff and partaking of the chef’s expertise with good, fresh ingredients.
